Bespoke joinery for a refined reception space at Ganton Street

We recently delivered a bespoke joinery package for a commercial refurbishment at Ganton Street, working in close collaboration with Scott Osborn and Fathom Architects.

The brief focused on creating a refined, functional reception area within a narrow footprint, alongside complementary joinery elements throughout the building. Careful consultation and detailing were key to ensuring the space worked practically while meeting the architect’s design intent.

Our role in the project included:

Bespoke reception desk

The reception area presented spatial challenges, requiring a carefully proportioned desk that allowed staff to work comfortably while maintaining clear circulation.

A bespoke reception desk was designed and manufactured to suit the narrow footprint, incorporating an angled working position to improve visibility of the entrance, an enclosed end, and an integrated access gate for staff.

The desk was finished in crown-cut oak veneer, rebated and painted in Ocean Blue lacquered paint, with Paloma Polar Formica laminate and a Domus terrazzo concrete worktop.

Feature wall panelling and vanity units

To create visual continuity, bespoke wall panelling was manufactured to complement the reception desk design. The panelling frames the lift lobby and continues through the stairwell, creating a cohesive journey through the building and reinforcing the material palette established at reception.

In addition to the reception and wall panelling, we manufactured three bespoke vanity unit designs for the WC areas on upper floors, finished in wood veneer and designed to receive porcelain worktops and integrated sinks

"The reception space at Ganton Street was particularly tight, so it required careful consultation to get the proportions right. We needed to ensure the desk worked comfortably for the user while still maintaining clear circulation and fire egress. Working closely with Scott Osborn and Fathom Architects made that process straightforward, and the clarity of the design information allowed us to deliver exactly what was intended.”
