Discover how Clarke Rendall’s
recommendations helped create this stunning
ebony reception desk using veneer from a
guaranteed sustainable source...
This stunning reception desk which takes pride of place at Konica
Minolta’s brand new flagship European showroom called the ihub
on Baker Street in Central London was produced through interior
fit-out specialists Herriots, and overseen by Johnny Wilkinson.
For over 5 years, Johnny has been specifying Clarke Rendall’s
products and services, visiting their central UK facility to discuss
projects on several occasions in the past, and has always been
“very impressed with the set up”.
Initial CAD sketches for this desk were produced by Herriots’
in house designer and then, as with all projects, put through
Clarke Rendall’s complimentary design review process in order to
formulate an agreed design.
At this point, Johnny’s confidence in Clarke Rendall afforded
him the option of arranging for Richard Pearce, Konica Minolta’s
Head of Corporate Services and Business Reform, to visit
Clarke Rendall’s 20,000sq ft facility to see for himself the
strengths of the operation and also to be guided over the choice of
finishes.
The original design called for a walnut finish, but after a face
to face meeting, Clarke Rendall’s MD, Martin Clarke was able to
introduce some other possibilities. Once assurances were given
that all veneers can be reliably traced back to sustainable sources,
Richard opted for the beautiful lustre of highly polished ebony.
Johnny, a firm believer in the merits of promoting dialogue
between end client and manufacturer for this type of project,
commented “At the end of the day, It’s not all about price. It’s about
me being confident that I can deliver to my client the perfect
furniture solution, and know that the quality will be excellent.” With
Clarke Rendall he continued “I have absolutely no issues”.
